Have you heard? The roles of Dads are changing and we are totally here for it.
Recent studies have shown that Dads are taking more family leave. Dads are working from home or staying home as the primary caregiver. Dads are creating content for other dads. Dads are demanding changing tables in men's public restrooms! Yes, you read that correctly. Dads are willingly changing diapers...in public. Dads are killin' the game and taking no prisoners. Dads are evolving.
The Boston College Center for Work and Family released “The New Dad: Exploring Fatherhood Within a Career Context.” The interview-based survey of 33 middle-class, first-time fathers found that men no longer defined being a “good father” as a “breadwinner” but are more likely to value “being there, being present, spending time, and being accessible" to their children.
While you still may hear a "Close the door, are you trying to cool off the whole neighborhood?" or a cringe-worthy knock knock joke Daddo's have definitely come a long long way.
And hey, it's not an easy thing, being the best father you can be. And we don't think there's a gift or showering of bacon big enough to let your Dad know how special he truly is HOWEVER it doesn't hurt to try.
