Absurdly Delicious Bacon Now Part of Good Egg’s Absurdly Fresh, Purpose-Driven Customer Approach
EMERYVILLE, CA., —August 24, 2021 — Since the 1920s, bacon and eggs have been a culinary power couple. And, now, they are making their relationship even more official. Today, The Baconer—the craft producer leading innovation in the bacon aisle—announced a partnership with Good Eggs, the pioneering online marketplace that delivers thoughtfully sourced, peak-quality groceries, innovative service, and good jobs.
Through the new partnership, Good Eggs’ customers and bacon lovers can enjoy The Baconer’s line up of XXL Bacon Steaks, Smoked Lardons and Ground Bacon. All products are crafted from responsibly sourced heritage-breed pork.
- The Baconer's XXL Bacon Steaks are available in three flavors: Smoky Paprika, Maple Sugar, and Salt & Pepper—Uncured & Sugar Free. Cut ½” thick, the Bacon Steaks bring serious flavor served on burgers, cozied up with eggs, or straight up as the main event.
- The Baconer’s Lardons come in two flavors: Smoky Paprika and Uncured & Sugar Free Smoked Lardons. These tasty, bite size bacon pieces cook up crispy on the outside, hot and chewy in the middle. Boost the YUM! factor in everything from breakfast scrambles to salads, vegetables, pastas and more.
- The Baconer’s Ground Bacon is offered in two flavors: Smoky Paprika and Uncured & Sugar Free. Your new best friend in the kitchen, this is 100% pure, unadulterated coarse-ground premium bacon. Blend into burgers or meatloaf, boost pasta sauce or mac ’n cheese or fry into bacon bits for the ultimate topping.
"In identifying a partner for The Baconer’s next phase of growth, it was important to find an authentic food innovator that focuses on discovering and offering the greatest array taste-filled, sustainable and locally-made products," said Camilo Velasquez, CEO and Co-founder, The Baconer. “Good Eggs is 100% in line with our vision and their success in both identifying food brands and serving customers makes them an ideal partner for The Baconer as we continue to disrupt the bacon category."
The Original Bacon Slingers, Camilo Velasquez and Elisa Lewis, were a part of an underground supper Club, feeding neighborhood folks five- to seven-course meals, complete with a wine pairing in their shared industrial loft apartment. It was here that this dynamic duo began learning to cure their own meats. The husband-and-wife team moved to California and The Baconer got its start producing in a local commissary in Oakland, CA, selling on weekends at Bay Area farmers markets. Fast forward a few years and today The Baconer's indulgently thick cut bacon offerings are expertly smoked and cut in Cloverdale, CA with the same attention to detail and quality that set them apart from the start. Now headquartered in Emeryville, CA, The Baconer is a craft producer exclusively focused on one incredible product: bacon, characterized by responsible sourcing, chef-driven flavors, and hard-to-find cuts.
“We are thrilled to welcome The Baconer to the Good Eggs’ family,” said Ben Hartman, Senior Category Manager for Perishables. Their line of unique XXL Bacon Steaks, Smoked Lardons and Ground Bacon not only expands our product offerings, but is both delighting our customers and accelerating our growth as the online food marketplace pioneer.”
