The Baconer Maple Old Fashioned
Had a long day? Try our Maple Old Fashioned. This is our take on the classic cocktail with a few major upgrades, sure to set you right ;-)
Ingredients
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 2 dash Angostura Bitter
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- Orange twist
- Swizzle of candied maple bacon
- Maple Sugar Small Batch Bacon Strips
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Recipe
- Lay bacon strips on a baking sheet, use a rack if you have it
- Combine brown sugar, cayenne and black pepper, and rub all over the bacon strips
- Bake at 400F for about 20 minutes
- Remove from oven and let cool until stiff and candied surface has hardened
- While bacon swizzle is cooling, stir together bourbon, bitters and maple syrup. Add ice to your glass of choice and pour over the cocktail mixture.
- Garnish with candied bacon swizzle and orange rind
